Job summary

Kodo in Mumbai, India seeks a skilled mobile engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable apps for Android and iOS. You will own mobile features end-to-end, collaborate with product, design, backend, QA, and engineering teams, and push for high performance and reliability.

You will architect robust mobile solutions, integrate REST APIs and real-time services, and contribute to automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and strong monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Equivalent practical experience accepted.
• Strong mobile development fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance mobile apps for Android and iOS.
• Own mobile features end-to-end from design to testing, release, and monitoring.
• Design robust mobile architecture and reusable components.
• Integrate REST APIs, WebSockets, push notifications, and real-time services with backend.
• Optimize performance: startup time, memory, network, battery, UI responsiveness.
• Build reliable apps with strong error handling, logging, analytics, monitoring.
• Establish automated testing, CI/CD, build, release, deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, QA and other teams to translate requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to standards and best practices.
• Identify risks and improve stability, maintainability, and productivity.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Stay current with mobile tech and platform capabilities.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in mobile application development, architecture, performance optimization, reliability, and API integration. You will work closely with product, design, backend, and engineering teams to build scalable consumer-facing mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance mobile applications for Android and/or iOS.
• Own mobile features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and monitoring.
• Design and implement robust mobile architecture and reusable components.
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs, WebSockets, push notifications, deep linking, and real-time services.
• Optimize application performance, including startup time, memory usage, network performance, battery consumption, and UI responsiveness.
• Build reliable applications with strong error handling, observability, logging, analytics, and monitoring.
• Establish and improve automated testing, CI/CD, build, release, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Identify technical risks and proactively improve application stability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the mobile engineering team.
• Stay current with evolving mobile technologies, development frameworks, and platform capabilities.
