Job summary

Smartworkconsultants is seeking a detail-oriented Merchandiser to coordinate customer orders, product development, sampling, production follow-up, quality and shipment schedules for a home textiles manufacturing company in Madurai.

Responsibilities include coordinating specifications, pricing and samples with customers; merchandising bedsheets, pillow covers, curtains, towels and other textiles; ensuring timely order execution by liaising with Production, Purchase, Quality and Planning teams,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Textile/Home Textile Merchandising.

• Export orders/shipment coordination knowledge preferred.

• Handle merchandising activities for home textile products such as bedsheets, pillow covers, curtains, towels, comforters and other textile products.
• Coordinate sample development, approvals and product specifications.
• Follow up with Production, Purchase, Quality and Planning teams to ensure timely order execution.
• Monitor production progress and ensure delivery schedules are met.
• Coordinate fabric, trims, accessories and packaging requirements.
• Maintain order status, costing sheets, sample records and merchandising reports.
• Coordinate quality inspections and resolve product-related issues.
• Communicate with customers regarding order updates, approvals and shipment schedules.
• Coordinate with Export/Logistics team for documentation and shipment follow-up, where applicable.
• Ensure customer requirements and quality standards are followed throughout the order cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with customers regarding product specifications, pricing, samples and order requirements.

Handle merchandising activities for home textile products such as bedsheets, pillow covers, curtains, towels, comforters and other textile products.

Coordinate sample development, approvals and product specifications.

Follow up with Production, Purchase, Quality and Planning teams to ensure timely order execution.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of Textile / Home Textile Merchandising .

Order management and production follow-up.

Basic textile fabric, weaving, processing and finishing knowledge.

Costing, pricing and order documentation.

Quality standards and inspection coordination.

Knowledge of MS Excel, ERP and merchandising reports.

Preferred Experience

3+ years of experience in Merchandising.

Experience in Home Textiles / Textile Manufacturing / Export Houses preferred.

Knowledge of export orders, buyer communication and shipment coordination will be an advantage.

Qualification in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Textile Management or a relevant discipline preferred.
