Nutanix is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff for the Core Data Path (CDP) team in Bangalore or Pune. This engineering role involves designing and delivering high-performance software for Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric, impacting performance and customer experience.
The ideal candidate has strong systems fundamentals, experience in C++, and a collaborative attitude to mentor junior engineers. The team focuses on innovative storage solutions and offers a hybrid working model, requiring at least three days in the office.
This is a key engineering role in the Core Data Path (CDP) team, which maintains and evolves the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric (NDSF) - the foundational storage layer that powers Nutanix hyperconverged and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will work on Stargate, the data engine of NDSF. Stargate handles IO requests, data placement, dedupe, compression, encryption, resiliency, and healing from failures. The work sits close to the core of the product and directly impacts performance, reliability, scale, and customer experience.
We are looking for engineers who combine strong systems fundamentals with ownership, sound design judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality enterprise software in a complex distributed system.
The CDP team was the first engineering team created at Nutanix and is responsible for the Nutanix Distributed Storage Fabric. We are hiring for the Stargate team, which is the data engine of the distributed file system.
The team works on some of the most interesting problems in storage: IO path design, data placement, resiliency, healing, performance, dedupe, compression, encryption, and scale. Even after many years of product maturity, the team continues to re‑invent core architecture to use newer technologies and improve product capabilities.
Our primary technology stack is C++. We value deep ownership, clear design, simplicity, customer impact, and engineers who enjoy learning from one another.
We work as a global team across regions and collaborate asynchronously as much as possible. Engineers are given autonomy and responsibility while working closely with stakeholders across engineering, support, product, and customer‑facing teams.
This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore or Pune. Team members are expected to work from the office at least 3 days a week to support collaboration, team alignment, and stronger mentorship - both learning from experienced engineers and helping mentor junior team members.
We focus on building infrastructure that delivers strong ROI for customers, whether through performance, reliability, simplicity, or operational savings. The best engineers on the team combine curiosity, ownership, technical depth, and humility.
