Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) invites you to discuss the SAP Transportation Management consultant role, with emphasis on end-to-end TM implementations and S/4HANA integration. The position requires 6+ years of hands-on TM experience in retail logistics and complex CDC scenarios.

Responsibilities include leading design, configuration, testing, and deployment, plus coordinating with business stakeholders to deliver robust TM solutions across domestic and international operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive SAP TM experience across full-cycle implementations, upgrades and support engagements with TM as a sidecar to S/4HANA.
• Experience delivering TM for grocery retail customers, including high-volume store operations and perishable logistics.
• Strong understanding of SAP TM Cross Docking Centers (CDC) and FU consolidation/deconsolidation.
• Solid knowledge of Master Data in SAP TM, inbound/outbound shipments, and domestic/international planning.
• Experience in TM configuration: Master data, Forwarding Order, Freight Unit rules, Freight Order management and settlement.
• Working knowledge of transportation capacity planning, demand planning and freight tendering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, development, testing and deployment of SAP TM applications.
• Provide SAP TM driven solutions to business requirements in Transportation Management.
• Ensure quality standards, data integrity and proper documentation across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate workshops and capture requirements from stakeholders across geographies.

Job Description:

Role: SAP TM Consultant

Skill: SAP Transportation Management

Experience: 6+

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency):

Must-Have:

• Extensive SAP Transportation Management (TM) functional experience across full-cycle implementation, system upgrade, and support engagements where SAP TM operated as a sidecar system integrated with SAP S/4HANA
• Hands-on implementation experience for grocery retail customers, including high-volume store operations, fresh & perishable logistics, cross-dock flows, replenishment cycles, and distribution network logistics.
• Strong understanding of SAP TM-managed Cross Docking Centers (CDC), including FU consolidation & deconsolidation.
• Good understanding in BN4L especially in GTT. · SAP TM business process Transportation Master Data management, Inbound and outbound Shipments, Domestic and International Transportation.
• Should have very good hands on experience and in- depth experience in configuration setup for processes like Outbound/ Inbound.
• Should have experience in SAP TM configuration experience for Master data, Forwarding Order Management, Freight unit building rule, Planning, Freight Order Management, Charge Calculation and Freight Settlement.
• Should have working knowledge of Transportation capacity and demand planning · Should have working knowledge of Transportation requirements management · Should have working knowledge of freight planning and optimization
• Should have working knowledge of interactive freight tendering · Should have working knowledge of freight and forwarding settlement,
• Should have working knowledge of Collaboration portal
• Should have experience on Ocean Air Freight Order Transpiration Planning Freight Units, Freight proposal and Freight Orders.
• Transportation Execution, Carrier Selection, Tendering, Delivery and Shipment proposals,
• Should have good understanding of SAP TM integration with other SAP systems (EWM/YLM)and legacy systems

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role:

• Lead the team in the planning, design, development, Testing and deployment of SAP TM application
• Provide SAP driven solutions for Business requirements in the area of Transportation Management
• Follow software quality process and methodology standards, including those for design, data quality, code, version control, defect/change request tracking, documentation, work product review, unit testing and environment management
• Identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements including the facilitation of workshops to collect business requirements
