The Resident Medical Officer is responsible for continuous on-site medical supervision and first-line emergency management of patients during the assigned duty period. The RMO shall assess and stabilize emergencies within competency and approved hospital protocols; promptly notify and coordinate with the relevant consultant; ensure safe monitoring, documentation, handover, referral, and compliance with clinical, ethical, statutory, and hospital-quality requirements. The RMO works under the overall clinical governance of the Medical Director and shall not undertake specialist procedures beyond credentialed competence or without the required consultant support.
