Job summary

Phoenix Assurance Pvt Ltd is seeking a Medical Doctor to work on-site in Ahmedabad in a full-time role, supporting medical claim investigation and assessment across health insurance policies. You will review medical records, validate diagnoses and treatments, and provide professional medical opinions to support claim decisions.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and valid medical registration with the appropriate council.
• Clinical experience in internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties, preferably with exposure to health insurance or medical audit.
• Strong skills in medical record review, clinical documentation analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Ability to communicate medical findings clearly in written reports and to collaborate with non-medical stakeholders.
• High standards of professional ethics, integrity, and objectivity in claim assessment and patient-related information handling.
• Familiarity with Indian healthcare systems, government health schemes (e.g., PMJAY), and insurance processes is an advantage.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, digital documentation, and secure handling of medical data.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work in a fast-paced, field-investigation environment.

Role Description

The Medical Doctor will work on‑site in Ahmedabad in a full‑time capacity, supporting medical claim investigation and assessment for a variety of insurance policies. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include reviewing medical records, validating diagnoses and treatments, and providing professional medical opinions to support claim decisions. The role involves collaborating with field investigators, claims teams, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, fair, and timely evaluation of health‑related claims. The Medical Doctor will help identify patterns in claims, contribute to strategies that minimize fraud and error, and support quality assurance processes for government and private health insurance schemes. The position may also include participation in training sessions, documentation of medical findings, and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
