Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH in Mumbai is seeking a Medical Advisor at Head Office to execute medical affairs strategy in the assigned zone and drive scientific engagement. You will build knowledge of current practices and therapies, gather and communicate non-promotional scientific information, and support regulatory and labeling activities while contributing to local medico-marketing strategies.

Qualifications

• Medical degree in Pharmacology required.
• Preferably 4-5 years experience in the medical/pharma field; for professionals without a doctoral qualification, 10+ years field-based work experience with strong scientific expertise.
• Scientific expertise in Diabetes Therapy Area is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT knowledge of MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Build a deep understanding of current practices, treatment trends, and therapies by engaging with key customers and reviewing relevant literature.
• Gather and communicate scientific information clearly and non-promotionally, positioning Boehringer Ingelheim Medical as a trusted partner and executing key medical projects (e.g., IIS studies).
• Support implementation of local medico-marketing strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
• Identify and engage key experts within the territory and provide regular field insights and feedback on KOL development.
• Support product/indication registrations by delivering scientific presentations and liaising with healthcare professionals for advocacy.
• Contribute to development and review of labeling documents for pipeline and local products in line with SOPs.
• Assist regulatory affairs by providing access to external experts when appropriate.

As a Medical Advisor for Head Office, you will be responsible for executing the medical affairs strategy within your assigned zone, contributing to impactful scientific engagement and partnerships.

Duties & Responsibilities

• You will build a deep understanding of current practices, treatment trends, and therapies within your assigned therapeutic area by engaging with key customers, attending scientific symposia, and reviewing relevant medical literature. This will enable you to provide valuable scientific insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
• You will gather and communicate scientific information clearly and effectively, positioning Boehringer Ingelheim Medical as a trusted and preferred partner through credible, non-promotional interactions. You will also execute key medical projects (e.g., IIS studies) to strengthen engagement with customers and networks, delivering value to both healthcare professionals and the organization.
• You will play an active role in implementing local medico-marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
• You will identify and engage key experts within your territory, building strong professional relationships and networks. You will also provide regular feedback to management regarding KOL (Key Opinion Leader) development and insights from the field.
• You will support the registration of new products or indications by delivering scientific presentations, providing medical rationale and literature support, and liaising with healthcare professionals to gain advocacy.
• You will contribute to the development and review of labeling documents for pipeline and local products in line with relevant standard operating procedures.
• You may also support regulatory affairs in providing access to external experts when appropriate.
