Job summary

Baashyaam Constructions is seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair tractors, farm vehicles and agricultural equipment on the farm location. The role requires hands-on problem solving and the ability to work independently during emergencies.

The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems, and a valid driving licence. ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 37 years of hands-on experience as a Mechanic/Technician.
• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering preferred.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, hydraulics and basic electrical systems.
• Should be able to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems independently.
• Experience in farm/agricultural machinery will be an added advantage.
• Valid driving licence preferred.
• Should be willing to work at a farm location and attend emergency breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair tractors, farm vehicles and agricultural equipment.
• Carry out regular servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine, clutch, gearbox, brakes, steering, hydraulic and basic electrical issues.
• Maintain farm equipment such as rotavator, tiller, sprayer, brush cutter, water pump and motors.
• Attend machine breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Check engine oil, coolant, battery, tyres and lubricants.
• Maintain records of repairs, servicing and spare parts.
• Maintain tools and equipment safely and properly.
• Coordinate with outside workshops/service centres when required.
• Follow safety procedures during maintenance and repair work.
