Job summary

Applied Materials India in Bengaluru seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform analysis, design layouts, and drive components through design projects. The role requires 2–4 years of related experience and proficiency with CAD software, GD&T, and DFx principles.

You will coordinate procurement, assemble components, and generate test reports for product releases, supporting engineering teams across the lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering analysis under general supervision
  • Design or modify basic mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications under general supervision
  • Coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects; identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve moderately complex technical issues
  • Perform and document engineering test reports; generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases
  • Perform engineering analysis; troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems of moderate difficulty under general supervision
  • Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes as needed
  • Enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and/or Design for Excellence principles
