Job summary

Applied Materials India is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform engineering analysis and design mechanical layouts for semiconductor equipment in Bangalore. You will coordinate procurement, assembly and testing of mechanical components, and contribute to product releases with documentation and troubleshooting support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6–8 years of related experience, with strong proficiency in mechanical design, CAD software and GD&T.

• Experience with Mechanical Design using CAD tools and GD&T is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis under general supervision.
• Design or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications under general supervision.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components for design projects; identify sources of parts to resolve moderately complex issues.
• Perform and document engineering test reports; generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems of moderate difficulty under supervision.
• Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and processes as needed.
• Enable handling and assembly of parts throughout the product life cycle as needed.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis under general supervision
• Design or modify basic mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications under general supervision
• Coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects; identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve moderately complex technical issues
• Perform and document engineering test reports; generate alpha/gamma documentation for product releases
• Perform engineering analysis; troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems of moderate difficulty under general supervision
• Design, develop and implement custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes as needed
• Enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle, as needed
