Job Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer – New Product Design, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to convert innovative concepts into production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute in mechanical product design from concept to completion, including validation and testing.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, mechanical components, and mechanisms, and complete mechanical assemblies.
• Involve in the selection of mechanical components, motors and gearboxes, and other machine components.
• Contribute in making prototypes, testing, and validating using prototypes.
• Independently perform end to end mechanical product design and development including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of electro mechanical components / products / systems.
• Collaborate with customers and vendors to perform DFMA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and prototype testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers for complete product integration.
• Work with vendors and customers to finalize component specifications and validate manufacturability.
• Conduct and review DFMEA, structural and thermal analysis reports.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure production-readiness while adhering to quality, safety, and cost standards.
• Operate efficiently in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.

Skills required

• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, mechanical calculations, and motor selection.
• Strong knowledge in static and dynamic calculations.
• Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of different prototyping methods.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T, and FEA analysis.
• Strong knowledge of CNC - milling, turning, and sheet metal DFMA.
• Basic knowledge of vibrations and waterproofing.
• Familiarity with FMEA, reliability engineering, and validation techniques
• Critical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail
• Proactive attitude with ability to work independently or lead teams

Desired candidate profile

• Exposure to defence, electromechanical systems, or startup/SME environments is a strong advantage
• Strong communication, leadership, collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Compensation

Net Pay Offered: Up to INR 9 LPA, based on skills and experience.
