Job description

About MetroCorps

MetroCorps Private Limited is a newly established project management company in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, delivering engineering design, procurement and project controls for design-build projects of US clients across Africa, the GCC and Europe. Every project is designed through conceptual, developmental, pre-final and final stages with licensed US Professional Engineers, and taken from the first page of the RFP to handover. Our programme includes modular and containerised living units, substation renovation, medium-voltage switchgear, UPS and generator systems, wastewater treatment plants and building renovation. Join our founding team.

Employer: MetroCorps Private Limited, Gachibowli, Hyderabad (www.metrocorps.com).
The role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to carry the mechanical content of several concurrent international design-build projects (containerised living units, a generator plant, a UPS replacement and a switchgear E-House) from basis of design to commissioning. You will produce the calculations, specifications and equipment schedules, hold the design conversation with the US-based Professional Engineer, and answer client design reviews line by line.

What you will do
  • Produce the mechanical calculations: cooling loads for a hot, humid climate, ventilation and pressurisation, duct and pipe sizing, pump and fan selection, water and drainage, fuel storage, generator airflow and battery-room ventilation.
  • Develop the mechanical basis of design, equipment schedules and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, fuel, exhaust, ventilation and fire-protection interfaces to ASHRAE, NFPA and US codes.
  • Hold the design conversation with the US-based Professional Engineer, direct the draftsman on mechanical drawings, and coordinate with the electrical and civil disciplines to resolve clashes before issue.
  • Answer client design-review comments line by line, and track RFIs and submittals through the submittal register.
  • Write the technical part of enquiries for HVAC, pumps, fuel, exhaust and fire-suppression equipment, review supplier submittals, and maintain the unit-by-unit mechanical bill of materials for prefabricated scopes.
  • Support the site teams across time zones, write and review factory and site acceptance tests, and carry the mechanical punch list and closeout package to completion.
What we are looking for
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering; M.Tech an advantage.
  • At least 6 years of HVAC/mechanical building-services design with a reputed EPC/GC, PMC or consultancy, including 3 years on prefabricated or containerised buildings, or on generator or plant-room installations (design, not drafting support only).
  • Hands-on design of air-conditioning for hot, humid climates, ventilation and pressurisation, water and drainage, and at least one of: generator fuel, exhaust and cooling systems; UPS or battery-room cooling; E-House or electrical-room HVAC.
  • Working proficiency in HAP or TRACE, Revit MEP and AutoCAD; strong Excel discipline; sound knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME and US mechanical and plumbing codes.
  • Experience on projects with a formal design comment cycle: submittal registers, RFIs and client comment sheets answered line by line.
  • Excellent written English, and availability for short overseas assignments for factory tests or commissioning when required.
What we offer
  • Annual CTC of ₹15–35 lakh.
  • A founding-team role: shape how a new international office works, from day one.
  • International projects: design-build work for US clients, delivered to US standards.
  • Work alongside licensed US Professional Engineers.
  • A performance and pay review every year.

We value capability and commitment over years of experience.
