Job summary

Idexcel is seeking an Automotive-Mechanical Design Engineer in Chennai to handle cockpit module development and interior trim concepts. You will use NX CAD to study layouts, interact with customers, and ensure designs meet functional, packaging, and appearance requirements.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in automotive interior design, knowledge of DFA/DFM and VAVE, and a strong eye for detail. Bilingual Japanese skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Development of Cockpit Module (IP & Console).
• Knowledge in Automotive Interior domain, Plastics, Door Trims, Interior Trims etc.
• Use of CAD systems (NX) to study Layout, interact with customer, check the design & engineer component parts to ensure high-quality output meeting the requirements (Functional, Packaging, appearance, etc.)
• Knowledge on production, Knowledge of DFA, DFM, VAVE, Good in concept creation, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop Cockpit Module (IP & Console) concepts and layouts.
• Study layouts using NX CAD and interact with customers to finalize designs.
• Engineer component parts to ensure functional, packaging and appearance requirements.
• Coordinate with production teams on DFA/DFM and VAVE for cost and manufacturability.
• Work within Automotive Interior domain including Plastics and Interior Trims.
