The candidate should have strong knowledge of Catia V5 workbenches, including Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly, Drafting, and Generative Sheet Metal. Familiarity with Catia V5 SKE system and mechanical sheet metal bracket feasibility is also important. Experience with PLM tools, especially Teamcenter with ECN/ECR, is preferred.
The role involves participating in New Product Development (NPD) for aircraft seating components. This includes designing three-dimensional models for aerospace interior machined parts, sheet metal brackets, and injection-molded parts for business and economy class seats, with attention to Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and other design requirements. The candidate is expected to create detailed mechanical drawings using GD&T applications in accordance with engineering standards, and to read existing drawings to ensure correct material specifications and manufacturability.
Establishing project work roadmaps, analyzing work samples, and developing standards for customer use are key duties. The role requires defining and coordinating mechanical and electrical interfaces with system manufacturers, relevant departments, and approval bodies. Support to onsite coordinators and communication with engineers to oversee installations are also part of the responsibilities.
The candidate should propose material changes with correct specifications to enhance component functionality, aesthetics, and weight optimization. They are responsible for customer technical interactions and conducting quality reviews. Ensuring all designs and drawings comply with applicable guidelines and internal standards is essential .
Assisting manufacturing and assembly teams during prototype, pilot, and production phases is required. The role includes providing troubleshooting support for mechanical design problems in seatings and offering concepts or proposals related to mechanical structures.
Preparation of parts lists (BOM) and production drawings is expected. The candidate should maintain comprehensive documentation of project activities, including updates, changes, and key decisions. Additionally, handling technical training for junior team members is part of the job.
