Job description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - PCB/PCBA to lead PCB assembly, electronic module manufacturing, and testing for UAV platforms. This execution-focused role translates electronic designs- including flight control systems, power distribution units, and communication interfaces-into production ready assemblies meeting aerospace-grade quality, reliability, and performance requirements. Working with Mechanical and Electrical Production, the integration & assembly team, and the harness manufacturing engineer, you will own board-level production readiness and electronic subsystem validation. The role includes standardized manufacturing processes and ownership of PCB/PCBA Manufacturing BoM creation and management (Product Tree), engineering changes (ECO/ECR), and releases, ensuring configuration control, traceability, and alignment between design and production.

Key responsibilities -
  1. Develop, standardize, and continuously improve EWIs, OMS, and SOPs for PCB/PCBA manufacture and testing.
  2. Optimize assembly processes for complex electronic systems, including SMT and through-hole assembly, soldering, inspection, and module assembly.
  3. Co-own electronic system integration into the airframe with the integration & assembly team and harness manufacturing engineer; validate module functionality and interfaces.
  4. Drive MES implementation for electronics manufacturing standardization and digitization; design and implement workflows for real-time visibility and traceability.
  5. Map and analyze PCB/PCBA processes, including routing, cycle time, takt time, and material flow.
  6. Standardize manufacturing data, including work instructions, routing, machine parameters, and quality checkpoints for electronic assembly.
  7. Establish component, board, module, and test traceability aligned with production and quality requirements.
  8. Define workstation layouts, line balancing, and operator allocation to meet takt and efficiency targets.
  9. Support production assembly and procurement (SCM), including electronic component sourcing, PCB fabrication and assembly outsourcing, and functional testing at IQC and vendors.
  10. Investigate and resolve electronic failures at component level using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers; coordinate interconnection issues with the harness manufacturing engineer.
  11. Lead PCB/PCBA and electronic module NPI from prototype to full-scale production, ensuring scalable manufacturing.
  12. Implement electronic subsystem assembly and testing to improve process stability, repeatability, and defect reduction.
  13. Validate and install electronics manufacturing tools, equipment, test fixtures, and automated testers for board and subsystem testing.
Required Skills
  • Technical Drawings PCB testing
  • Real-time Data Transmission (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • PCB Design and Layout
  • Soldering and Electronics Assembly Standards Compliance (e.g., MIL-STD)
  • Strong troubleshooting
  • Failure Mode Analysis
