Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Test Engineer responsible for designing, preparing and executing manual test cases to ensure the quality, reliability and performance of software applications developed within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases based on requirements and user stories.
• Perform various types of manual testing: functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, usability, and UI.
• Conduct API testing using tools like Postman and validate responses and data using SQL queries.
• Identify, log, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Collaborate with developers and project leads to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare clear test documentation – test cases, defect reports, and execution summaries.
• Review test cases, verify fixes, and perform re-testing to ensure resolution. Support release cycles and ensure timely completion of testing activities.
• Continuously improve testing processes and overall test coverage.
• Exposure to automation tools or willingness to learn automation will be an added advantage.

Required Skills (hands-on experience in the following):

• Hands-on experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Experience in writing detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Familiarity with API testing using tools like Postman.
• Knowledge of SQL queries to validate backend data.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Basic knowledge of security or performance testing concepts is a plus

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent practical experience.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in manual software testing.
• ISTQB or other relevant QA certification.
