Job summary

A prominent footwear company in Coimbatore is looking for an experienced footwear designer to create innovative designs for men, women, and children. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience in footwear design, strong hands-on skills in manual pattern making, and a good understanding of materials and construction methods. This role requires coordination with various teams to ensure design compatibility and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in footwear design and development.
• Experience across EVA, PU, TPU, or rubber footwear is preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience in manual footwear pattern making.

Responsibilities

• Develop footwear design concepts based on market trends.
• Create innovative and functional footwear for GENTS, LADIES & KIDS.
• Work closely with finalize design directions.
• Ensure footwear fit, comfort, and performance meet brand standards.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop footwear design concepts based on market trends, briefs, and brand direction
• Create innovative and functional footwear concepts for different categories( GENTS ,LADIES & KIDS)
• Work closely with finalize design directions
• Create manual footwear patterns for uppers, linings, reinforcements, and components
• Develop patterns as per size standards and fitting requirements
• Modify patterns based on sample feedback, fit trials, and production needs
• Support sample development from first prototype to final approval
• Coordinate with sample room, vendors, and factories for pattern execution
• Ensure correct construction methods and material usage
• Prepare and share technical inputs such as construction details, and BOM support
• Work with mould, sole, and component teams to ensure design compatibility
• Troubleshoot design, fit, and construction issues during developmentEnsure footwear fit, comfort, and performance meet brand standards
• Conduct fit checks and recommend improvements
• Maintain consistency across sizes and styles
• Maintain pattern records, development notes, and revision histories
• Support costing and feasibility discussions during development
• Strong hands‑on experience in manual footwear pattern making
• Knowledge of footwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Understanding of size grading and fit standards
• Ability to translate concepts into practical, production-ready patterns
• Good coordination and communication skills
