Standard Chartered in Bengaluru is seeking a Manager, Trade & Regulatory Control - Onboarding to lead regulatory onboarding controls for Markets onboarding, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and audit standards.

The role requires coordinating with Compliance, COO, Client Relationship Managers and Technology to integrate onboarding controls into BAU processes and drive continuous improvement in regulatory controls across the business.

Qualifications

  • MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Process management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years in financial services, onboarding or markets operations.
  • Understanding of FM onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Execute regulatory onboarding controls across Markets onboarding activities.
  • Define and implement control framework for client agreements per Legal standards.
  • Collaborate with Markets COO, Compliance, Client Relationship Managers, Onboarding team and Technology.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in controls and processes.
  • Ensure BAU processes integrate regulatory onboarding requirements and timely escalation.

Manager, Trade & Regulatory Control - Onboarding

  • Function purpose: The Markets Regulatory Control function enables proactive risk management by executing regulatory controls across the Markets business, in line with regulatory requirements and high standards of operational integrity.
  • Business partnership: Acting as a trusted partner to the Markets business, the function delivers effective control execution, strong risk management practices and data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Role context: This role sits within the Regulatory Onboarding Control function, which forms part of the broader Regulatory Operations team.
Key Responsibilities

Manager- Regulatory onboarding control” will be a key contributor in executing regulatory control across Markets control activities. This role sits within the Markets Onboarding Regulatory control team and supports the timely and accurate execution of controls for new and evolving financial regulations, including but not limited to Dodd-Frank, SEC, CFTC, EMIR, MiFID II & UM.

The incumbent will help coordinate across stakeholders to execute & evolve the controls, and ensure that front-office, operations, and support teams integrate compliance controls and regulatory specific onboarding requirements into business-as-usual (BAU) processes & do timely escalation.

  • Execute Controls to ensure Regulatory Control team meets CIB Onboarding Control standards and Audit requirements.
  • Define and execute Control framework to ensure Client agreements drafted in accordance to Legal standards and Regulations.
  • Collaborate with Markets Business COO, Compliance, Client Relationship Managers, Onboarding team and Technology to support Business & Client Enablement initiatives and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovate:
  • Refine the controls with continuous improvement & consultation.
  • Work with Client RMs and Onboarding team to deliver seamless Client Onboarding process, aligned to Onboarding Regulatory requirements.
  • Adherence to Ops Risk Standards of risk management, Control implementation and process management
  • Represent the team across various internal forums and Working Groups to ensure any Regulatory, Internal process and Technology changes impacting Onboarding Controls are assessed prior rollout.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in financial services, preferably in client onboarding or markets operations.
  • Understanding of FM onboarding process.
