Responsibilities

• Responsible for building and developing the indirect tax practice
• Identify new clients (independently or with the help of seniors or other teams)
• Identify new opportunities with existing clients (in view of developments in indirect taxes or client needs)
• Understand client requirements and gather relevant facts to identify solutions and service offerings
• Design and plan service offerings to meet client requirements, outline scope of work and scope limitations, discuss commercials with the Partner
• Communicate service offerings/proposals to clients and convert leads into assignments
• Ensure risk processes are completed before initiating assignment as per guidelines and obtain necessary approvals
• Plan and manage execution of assignments with appropriate resources; ensure quality and timelines
• Provide expert advice to clients on indirect tax law and regulations with industry insights and practical approaches
• Add value through innovative solutions while undertaking assignments
• Manage pan-India compliance and advisory services
• Represent clients before tax authorities in audits, assessments or litigation matters
• Provide guidance and coach team members during assignments
• Coach/mentor team members on indirect tax concepts and on-the-job learning
• Nominate team members for training and ensure attendance at internal and external training
• Understand career aspirations of team members and discuss development paths
• Manage team development and performance
• Encourage innovation and best practices within the team
• Provide regular feedback on performance
• Foster networking within the service line and with other service lines
• Understand various services offered by different service lines in the organization
