Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in Bengaluru seeks a senior technical leader to guide a team of software and QA engineers. You will stay current with industry trends and motivate the team to leverage best-in-class technologies for enterprise-scale software.

You will provide architectural guidance for the Identity Security Platform, drive quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product teams.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech / MCA or equivalent.
• 12+ years hands-on design & development of enterprise software.
• Minimum of 3 years leading a software development team as a tech/team lead.
• Backend stack: Python/Java/C#/Node.js/Go on Cloud development (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Full-stack or React/Typescript knowledge is a plus.
• Strong security knowledge and best practices.
• Experience with Agile, TDD, automation testing frameworks.
• Experience creating technical and architectural documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and multi-task across groups.

Job Summary

Provide technical leadership to a group of Software Engineers & QA engineers. As an enthusiastic technologist, you will stay up-to-date with technological trends in the industry and continuously motivate engineers to leverage the best-in-class technology in building enterprise-scale software.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a group of backend and frontend developers & QA engineers.
• Actively engage with the team to provide technical and architectural guidance in building the next-gen Identity Security Platform.
• Participate in continuous and iterative software development cycles with emphasis on code quality, supportability, scalability and performance.
• Ensure solid software engineering principles are adopted such as unit test automation, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Mentor and coach other engineers, and ensure adherence to security coding guidelines.
• Manage the engineers’ career growth and aspirations.
• Work with other engineering teams, Product Management and field professionals to understand customer requirements for continuous product enhancements.
• Interface with the Support team to handle customer escalation issues; diagnose and fix product issues.
• Assist engineering leadership in hiring.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• BE / B Tech /MCA or equivalent.
• 12+ years of hands‑on experience in the design & development of building enterprise software.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a software development team as a tech/team lead.
• Expertise and hands‑on experience with backend development tech stack - Python/Java/C#/Node js/Go or any similar backend stack on Cloud development ecosystem (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Being full-stack or knowledge of React/Typescript based development is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of security and best practices.
• Experience with Agile, TDD, test methodologies and industry-standard automation testing frameworks.
• Experience in creating technical and architectural documents.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and collaborate across multiple groups and disciplines.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and drive them to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the development of cloud-based solutions, AWS will be a plus.
• Working experience with AWS Serverless architecture would be a plus.
