Job Purpose:

The person will be responsible for managing and supervising end-to-end operations of the Steel Melting Shop (Induction Furnace Route) to achieve targeted production, quality, and efficiency. The role involves overseeing furnace operations, charge mix optimization, manpower management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise Induction Furnace operations (melting, refining, tapping, and ladle handling).
• Plan and monitor daily heat schedules to achieve production targets and maintain quality parameters.
• Manage charge mix (DRI, scrap, pig iron) for cost-effective and energy-efficient steelmaking.
• Ensure proper temperature and chemistry control of liquid steel before casting.
• Coordinate with CCM and Rolling Mill teams for billet casting and downstream flow.
• Monitor power consumption, yield, and furnace lining life, taking corrective measures to reduce losses.
• Oversee furnace and equipment maintenance, working with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Implement safety protocols, SOPs, and 5S practices in the SMS area.
• Train and guide shift operators, supervisors, and technical staff for smooth operations.
• Maintain production reports, heat logs, and process documentation for audits and quality control.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.
