Job summary

Bunge Mohali, India is seeking a Manager - SOX Compliance to lead the global SOX program and oversee internal controls over financial reporting. The role reports to the Global SOX Lead and will collaborate with regional teams to strengthen the control environment.

The ideal candidate has 7–9 years in a similar role with at least 4 years in a lead SOX position, holds a CPA/CA/CIA or MBA Finance, and demonstrates strong stakeholder management and leadership skills across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7 to 9 years in a similar role with at least last 4 years of SOX experience as a lead or above.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIA, CA, CMA, or MBA Finance) or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP, IFRS).
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead SOX Program planning, scoping, testing and ICFR monitoring.
• Coordinate with Global SOX PMO and process owners to standardize key controls.

Role Purpose Statement The Manager SOX Compliance will be a member of the Global Internal Audit team and report directly to the Global SOX Compliance Lead at BBS Mohali. The Manager SOX Compliance will support the Bunge SOX Compliance program and other initiatives, in collaboration with the Global/Regional SOX teams and with process/control owners across the organization. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and a strong understanding of business processes and risk management principles. The Manager SOX Compliance also plays a key role in developing and mentoring SOX team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and building strong stakeholder relationships.

• Generate a quantifiable return for the business by facilitating the Bunge Global SOX Compliance Program and other related activities.
• Transform the function, strengthening its brand, through your participation on department initiatives designed to build talent, improve our services, and build productive stakeholder relationships.
• Heavily invest in your development, by actively engaging in the Global Internal Audit Development Program.
• Participate in other strategic business activities, as requested by management.

Main Accountabilities

Lead and manage the execution of SOX Program, from planning and scoping, to testing, reporting and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).

• Work in coordination with Global SOX PMO, SOX Coordinators and business process/ control owners for standardization of key controls, evaluate potential financial reporting risks and design and implement effective internal controls to ensure strong control environment.
• Oversee and review the testing of internal controls ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including management, external auditors, and Global Internal Audit Leadership Team.
• Keep abreast of changes in SOX regulations, auditing/accounting standards, and facilitate trainings and guidance to the SOX team on SOX compliance requirements.
• Collaborates with the Global Internal Audit Leadership Team to develop, implement, and monitor the strategic plan for Internal Audit operations. This includes contributing to resource allocation, staff recruitment, training programs, performance evaluations, and corrective action plans.

Technical

• Good knowledge of accounting concepts and process/controls related to Financial Reporting, Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Commodity Trading, Treasury, Tax, Plant, Property & Equipment, Inventory, HR Payroll, etc.
• Understanding of common controls and CCM methodologies.
• Ability to support high quality level of SOX controls testing and other internal control initiatives.

Education & Experience

7 to 9 years of work experience in a similar role with at least last 4 years of SOX experience as a lead or above

• In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS)
• Sound understanding of processes and controls related to Financial Reporting, Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Commodity Trading, Treasury, Tax, Plant, Property & Equipment, Inventory, HR Payroll, etc.
• Project management experience
• Strong business and risk acumen
• Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills and ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels of the company
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, especially the ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to and drive change
• Ability to effectively work and build partnerships with employees at all levels
• Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with data analytics, ERP systems, and audit tools
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
