As a Manager/Senior Manager – Indirect Tax, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of indirection taxation. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of indirect tax laws, rules, and regulations for India, the UK, and the US, including GST, VAT, Sales Tax, and related compliances.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide oversight on all indirect tax matters in India and the UK/US (GST, VAT, Sales Tax).
- Prepare and review indirect tax filings and related compliances for various legal entities across the Group.
- Submit details required for indirect tax assessments.
- Coordinate with tax consultants for filing tax returns and assessments for different jurisdictions.
- Assist with tax planning and advice on restructures and special projects, liaising with consultants for expert opinion.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual indirect tax returns, refunds, and related assessments.
- Register and amend registrations for different jurisdictions as required.
- Prepare policies and operating procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Prepare and review details for statutory and tax audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Liaise with other teams within the organization for day‑to‑day operations.
- Assist with various ad hoc projects as required.
- Drive continuous process improvements, reduce inefficiencies, and lead automation projects to lower overall costs.
Job Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant.
- 4–7 years of total work experience in indirect tax, ideally with mixed experience in industry and Big‑4 firms.
- Strong knowledge of indirect tax laws applicable to India and the UK/US.
- Strong analytical, technical tax and accounting skills.
- Prior experience with ERP/NetSuite preferred.
- Strong Excel and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with stakeholders across multiple countries.
- Experience in a fast‑paced organization that values continuous improvement, process efficiencies, and automation.
