Job summary

Marsh Risk is seeking a Research Professional in Mumbai for a hybrid role requiring three days a week in the office. You will lead research on risk and sales strategy, building data-driven insights and presenting clear conclusions to stakeholders.

The position demands strong analytical skills, advanced communication, and a track record of delivering high-quality, strategy-focused research in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with CapIQ, Factiva, and similar tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters/Bachelors in Economics or MBA/equivalent post-graduation certification from a reputed institute.
• 5 to 6 years of experience in strategy research and advisory; global teams preferred.
• Experience building frameworks, data-driven insights, and analyses aligned to Sales Strategy.

Job description

We are seeking a talented Research Professional to join our Research team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to

• Invest in understanding our business thoroughly.
• Demonstrate critical thinking on research projects and problem solve with stakeholders on live research projects, for better client outcomes consistently.
• Deliver with excellence on high-impact research projects – comprehensive research, synthesized well in appropriate end product formats.
• Be extremely responsive in daily work and showcase process excellence.
• Estimate timelines accurately, deliver on time, flag issues proactively, be solution oriented and create routines that enhance efficient working.
• Develop strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders through high quality project delivery, responsiveness, and agile and clear communication.
• Contribute to process improvement of the team by making relevant recommendations and executing the process initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of overall delivery.
• Proactively leverage GPT & LLM tools and establish best practices within the team.
• Be suggestive of broader solutions and take exploration ownership.

What you need to have:

• Advanced communication skills – verbal, writing, listening.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, storyboarding and report writing skills.
• Masters / Bachelors in Economics or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) / equivalent post‑graduation certification from a reputed institute.
• 5 to 6 years of experience in strategy research and advisory. Experience working in a global team will be preferred.
• Experience in building frameworks, drawing data driven insights and performing analysis aligned to ‘Sales Strategy’, focusing on clients / prospects, markets, competitors, products and regulatory developments.
• Clear knowledge of business risk concepts is a must.
• Working knowledge of commercial database such as CapIQ, Factiva, Pitchbook, Alphasense etc.
• Understanding of strategy frameworks (PESTEL, Porter’s 5 forces, BCG Matrix, SWOT, etc.) and their applications in bringing out cutting edge insights.
• Advanced level proficiency in MS Office Suite, SharePoint & data visualization tools.

What makes you stand out?

• Certificate in insurance such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) / Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
• Experience in risk advisory or insurance / re-insurance related research or advisory support in related verticals
