Position Overview:

The Manager – Regional Process Engineering & Productivity is responsible for driving process excellence, productivity improvement, and operational standardization across regional operations. The role applies industrial engineering principles to optimise workflows, enhance service quality, reduce cost‑to‑serve, and ensure safe, scalable operations across hubs, delivery centres, and surface networks. This role acts as the regional owner for process engineering initiatives while aligning with national operations excellence frameworks.

Job Purpose:

To improve operational efficiency, productivity, safety, and service consistency across the regional logistics network by designing standardised processes, optimising workflows, and embedding data‑driven continuous improvement practices.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Process Mapping & Standardisation
  • Conduct end-to‑end process mapping for regional operations covering first‑mile, hub operations, surface movement interfaces, and last‑mile delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardised SOPs to ensure consistency across locations.
  • Identify process gaps, redundancies, and non‑value‑added activities through structured analysis.
Productivity & Workflow Optimisation
  • Drive time and motion studies to improve throughput, reduce handling time, and enhance workforce productivity.
  • Design optimised workflows and layouts to minimise congestion, rehandling, and delays.
  • Support productivity benchmarking across sites and drive improvement initiatives.
Ergonomics, Safety & Service Quality
  • Design ergonomically efficient workstations and processes to improve employee safety and reduce fatigue.
  • Partner with safety teams to implement preventive measures and improve compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure process changes positively impact service quality, TAT adherence, and shipment integrity.
Cost Efficiency & Resource Optimisation
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost‑to‑serve through process simplification, automation, and better resource utilisation.
  • Support regional cost‑saving initiatives linked to handling, manpower deployment, and productivity improvement.
  • Track benefits realisation from implemented process changes.
Technology & Automation Enablement
  • Evaluate and support implementation of automation, mechanisation, and digital tools for process improvement.
  • Work with IT and vendors to pilot and scale solutions such as scanners, conveyors, automation aids, or workflow tools.
  • Ensure technology adoption is aligned with operational realities and service needs.
Performance Monitoring & Governance
  • Define productivity, efficiency, and safety metrics for regional operations.
  • Develop dashboards and MIS to track performance and improvement outcomes.
  • Present insights and recommendations to regional leadership for decision‑making.
Capability Building & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Train operations teams on new processes, SOPs, and productivity tools.
  • Act as a process subject‑matter expert for regional operations leadership.
  • Collaborate with national Ops Excellence, Safety, IT, and HR teams for aligned execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • Preferred: MBA / PGDM in Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain Hands‑on experience with ATS platforms and recruitment reporting.
Experience
  • 7–10 years of experience in process engineering, productivity improvement, or operations excellence roles.
  • Strong exposure to express logistics, courier, e‑commerce, or other high‑volume, time‑critical operations.
  • Proven experience in time & motion studies, SOP standardisation, and operational productivity improvement.
  • (Experience aligned to regional process engineering / ops excellence roles in leading Indian express and e‑commerce logistics networks.)
