Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle is seeking a Manager - Process Development & Industrialization to lead the translation of laboratory and pilot-scale developments into robust manufacturing processes for commercialization and readiness.

You will work closely with Product Development, Packaging Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive process excellence, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across technology transfer, scale-up, and digital analytics.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Manager - Process Development & Industrialization to lead process development, scale-up, industrialization, and technology transfer initiatives for innovation, renovation, and value engineering projects.

The role will be responsible for translating laboratory and pilot-scale developments into robust, commercially viable manufacturing processes while ensuring successful commercialization and manufacturing readiness. Working closely with Product Development, Packaging Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams, the incumbent will drive process excellence and continuous improvement through scientific and data-driven approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Transfer & Commercialization

• Lead technology transfer of new products, formulations, and manufacturing technologies from pilot scale to commercial production.
• Ensure successful execution of commercialization activities and completion of all qualification and validation requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless product launches.

Process Development & Scale-Up

• Develop and establish robust manufacturing processes for New Product Development (NPD), renovation, and value engineering projects.
• Define process feasibility and process capability during scale-up activities.
• Identify and establish Critical to Process (CTP) parameters for stable manufacturing processes.
• Support first-time-right commercial launches by ensuring process robustness and repeatability.

Manufacturing Readiness

• Develop and maintain process documentation, process flow diagrams, SOPs, technology transfer packages, and training materials.
• Ensure all manufacturing documentation is completed prior to commercial launch.
• Conduct risk assessments and establish process control strategies.
• Support plant teams with process training and knowledge transfer activities.

Process Capability & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor process performance and capability during trials and commercial production.
• Analyze manufacturing and trial data to identify process variability, losses, defects, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive initiatives focused on process optimization, efficiency improvement, and waste reduction.
• Support manufacturing teams in improving process robustness and operational excellence.

Digital Process Development & Analytics

• Utilize statistical tools and methodologies including DOE (Design of Experiments) and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
• Generate technical insights using data analytics and visualization techniques.
• Support digitalization initiatives in process development and manufacturing improvement programs.
• Leverage data-driven approaches to enhance process understanding and decision-making.
