Job description

TILT Capital is an impact-first venture fund, investing in early-stage startups that improve the lives of the Next Billion in India. We back founders building commercially viable solutions across agriculture, small enterprise productivity, financial inclusion, employability, and climate resilience. Our approach combines disciplined investing with hands-on support to help startups grow and deliver meaningful impact. Beyond capital, we connect founders with the expertise, markets and partnerships they need to grow.

The role

We are looking for a Manager – Portfolio Growth and Partnerships to design and deliver practical support for TILT’s portfolio companies.

You will work closely with founders to understand their business challenges, translate these into focused support plans, and bring together the right experts, partners and resources to deliver them. Working with TILT’s leadership and investment team, you will help companies strengthen their businesses, expand their reach and improve outcomes for the people they serve. You will also help build a repeatable approach to portfolio support, drawing on learning across companies.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify portfolio needs: Work with founders to understand their priorities and identify constraints affecting business growth, customer reach and impact.
  • Design and deliver tailored support: Develop practical support plans with clear priorities, milestones and outcomes across market access, capital readiness and operational capability. Coordinate delivery and help resolve bottlenecks.
  • Build and manage an expert network: Engage experienced operators, former CXOs, sector specialists and mentors. Match expertise to portfolio needs, define assignments and track the quality and timeliness of delivery.
  • Develop ecosystem partnerships: Build partnerships with technology providers, research institutions, buyers and other relevant service providers that address shared needs and create opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Run portfolio programmes: Design and deliver focused bootcamps, workshops and peer-learning sessions that help founders address common challenges and learn from one another.
  • Track outcomes and apply learning: Monitor progress against support plans, including business performance and outcomes for farmers, small entrepreneurs, workers and other underserved groups. Use these insights to refine support and strengthen TILT’s approach over time.
  • Contribute to thought leadership: Draw on portfolio experience and ecosystem insights to contribute to insight notes, sector reports, case studies and convenings, and help position TILT as a thought leader in founder support for impact‑first enterprises.
What we are looking for
  • 5-8 years of experience in portfolio support, startup programmes, management consulting or ecosystem partnerships, ideally with an investor, accelerator or impact organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with early‑stage founders to strengthen and scale their businesses, gained either within a startup or through an investor, accelerator or advisory role.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships across founders, experts, corporates, institutions and funders.
  • Strong judgment and ownership, with the ability to manage multiple programmes and partners independently within a small team.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with experience preparing clear, well‑structured reports for leadership, investors and donors.
  • Alignment with TILT’s impact‑first approach and willingness to conduct regular field visits.

Experience in agriculture, rural value chains or TILT’s focus sectors will be an advantage. The role offers real ownership and the opportunity to help build a founder‑support platform from an early stage.
