Job summary

Bain & Company in New Delhi, India seeks a Senior/Staff Engineer to own full-stack architecture for the Survey product suite, driving common infrastructure and reusable components.

You will set technical direction, lead platform capabilities across authentication, hosting, CI/CD, and data layers, and shape AI/LLM architecture including RAG and copilots. A senior, cross-team leader role with hands-on engagement is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience on web/cloud applications with growth into platform or architecture-level scope.
• 4+ years in a Staff/Principal Engineer, Architect, or platform-lead role — setting technical direction across multiple teams or products.
• Formal people management not required but proven ability to drive technical alignment across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own full-stack architecture and engineering outcomes across the Survey product suite, driving convergence toward common infrastructure and reusable components.
• Set technical direction for the portfolio and collaborate with product engineering leads on architecture decisions.
• Drive shared platform capabilities across products — authentication, hosting, CI/CD, observability, security scanning, API standards, data layers.
• Own security and data governance posture across the portfolio — access control, data sharing, compliance, responsible AI use.
• Stay hands-on in critical areas — shared components, APIs, production data and ML pipelines, performance-sensitive infra.
• Shape the AI/LLM architecture across Survey products — RAG, semantic search, copilots, agents, LLMOps, evaluation and monitoring.
• Translate product and business needs into technical roadmaps, surfacing risks and trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Build engineering capability across teams — mentoring leads and developers, code and architecture reviews.

What You’ll Do

• Own full-stack architecture and engineering outcomes across the Survey product suite, driving convergence toward common infrastructure, shared components, and consistent engineering practices
• Set technical direction for the portfolio and work closely with individual product engineering leads — providing direction, reviewing architecture decisions, and resolving cross-product dependencies
• Drive shared platform capabilities across products — authentication, hosting, CI/CD, observability, security scanning, API standards, shared data layers and cross-product integrations
• Own security and data governance posture across the portfolio — access control, data sharing, compliance, and responsible AI use
• Stay hands‑on in critical areas — shared components, APIs, production data and ML pipelines, asynchronous processing, and performance‑sensitive infrastructure
• Shape the AI/LLM architecture across Survey products — RAG, semantic search, copilots, agents, LLMOps, evaluation and monitoring
• Translate product and business needs into technical roadmaps, proactively surfacing risks and trade‑offs to stakeholders
• Build engineering capability across teams — mentoring leads and developers, conducting code and architecture reviews, supporting technical hiring

About You

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience on web/cloud applications with demonstrated growth into platform or architecture‑level scope
