Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Engineer to lead the Mechanical Ash Handling Plant. You will oversee daily PM/CM activities, painting and refurbishment of spares, and CAPEX projects to keep plant systems reliable and compliant.

The role includes material and documentation management in SAP, site health checks, coordination with internal teams, and strict adherence to safety standards, 5S and IMS guidelines.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of maintenance and overhaul management experience.
  • Experience in power plants or heavy industries; ash handling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities to ensure the reliability of the systems.
  • Execute painting, and refurbishment activities of major spares.
  • Implement seasonal maintenance plans, corrosion prevention plans and rolling plans.
  • Execute CAPEX projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Execute scrap collection and disposal to the store, maintaining environmental compliance.
  • Close notifications and work orders in SAP promptly.
  • Ensure cross verification of PTW and LOTO in SAP systems.
  • Monitor the healthiness of equipment through regular field visits and inspections.
  • Manage day-to-day attendance of business associates, ensuring PPE usage and tool healthiness.
  • Maintain SSC equipment, including pumps, blowers, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform cleaning of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) vessels and piping.

Job Purpose:

This role involves conducting daily preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability, including opportunity-based shutdowns. This role is also responsible for painting, refurbishment of spares, seasonal and corrosion prevention maintenance, and execution of CAPEX projects. The position requires material and documentation management, including creating reservation slips, verifying bills, and maintaining SAP records.

Responsibilities
Lead Mechanical Ash Handling Plant
  • Execute daily preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) activities and maintenance activities during opportunity-based shutdowns to ensure the reliability of the systems.
  • Execute painting, and refurbishment activities of major spares.
  • Implement seasonal maintenance plans, corrosion prevention plan and rolling plans.
  • Execute CAPEX projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Execute scrap collection and disposal to the store, maintaining environmental compliance.
Material and Documentation Management:
  • Create reservation slips for the issue of materials from stores and manage the return of balance spares.
  • Take site measurements for bill verifications to ensure accurate and fair financial transactions.
  • Arrange for the reservation of materials, ensuring the availability of spare parts.
  • Document maintenance activities meticulously for future reference and continuous improvement.
  • Close notifications and work orders in SAP promptly.
  • Ensure cross verification of PTW and LOTO in SAP systems.
Equipment and Site Management:
  • Monitor the healthiness of equipment through regular field visits and inspections and report any abnormalities on the site to the Team Lead promptly.
  • Manage the day-to-day attendance of business associates, ensuring the proper use of PPEs and the healthiness of tools and tackles.
  • Execute trials of equipment to validate performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain the proper functioning of SSC equipment, including pumps, blowers, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform cleaning of Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) vessels and associated piping
Business Sustainability:
  • Implement and follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines within the department.
  • Maintain a strong focus on the safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT) to reinforce safety awareness and operational procedures among the team.
  • Uphold 5S standards in the assigned area to promote a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Follow SOPs, SMPs, and JSAs to maintain high safety and operational standards.
Digitization and Automation:
  • Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Implement automation solutions to support overall organizational goals/strategy.
  • Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Work Experience (Range of years):
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance and overhaul management in power plants or heavy industries.
Preferred Industry:
  • Experience in the power generation industry, specifically in ash handling or related heavy industrial sectors.
