Qualifications

Job description

This role is responsible for planning and ensuring alignment with company goals through long-term and short-term maintenance planning and contingency readiness. This role also encompasses quality control, budget management, and oversight of audits, maintenance, and emergency response, while coordinating with various departments to maintain efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities of Role

  • Section Head MTP Strategic Planning and Leadership: Review long-term and short-term plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and rolling plans and maintain operational continuity.
  • Plan for contingencies such as CoH & AoH, ensuring readiness for unforeseen events.
  • Address short-term operational issues, maintaining unit performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic meetings, providing valuable inputs, discuss preventive maintenance, operational challenges and direct the team based on management requirements.
  • Review planning initiatives after thorough cross-team discussions.
  • Maintenance Planning, Audits and Insurance Management: Lead month-end MIS reviews for maintenance-related data, ensuring accuracy and accountability and organize station review meetings, ensuring maintenance excellence.
  • Oversee planned overhauls, maintenance resources, including manpower, tools, and spare parts, to ensure effective maintenance execution.
  • Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits, ensuring departmental processes comply with audit requirements.
  • Oversee insurance processes, including damage/loss claims and coordinate site activities for physical verification in case of insurance claims.
  • Play a pivotal role in emergency response and crisis management.
  • Budget Management and Inventory Management: Project Opex and Capex budget data from various departments, compiling and reviewing with the Head.
  • Monitor adherence to budgets through purchase requisition (PR) tracking and follow-ups.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management, reviewing overspends and sending alerts to departments.
  • Coordinate with site and head office management for financial decisions.
  • Business Sustainability: Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA and CHETNA guidelines, and safety protocols to manage risks and maintain compliance.
  • Ensure the safety of personnel and equipment through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure departmental alignment with the company's sustainability goals and practices.
  • Ensure healthiness of all equipment through condition based monitoring.
  • Digitization and Automation: Lead comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Innovate and implement automation solutions in line with organizational goals.
  • Review and implement process and system improvements, adopting new technologies.
  • Manage the Document Collection Centre (DCC), ensuring proper storage and access to critical data.
  • People and Team Engagement: Participate in the recruitment process to attract and retain skilled personnel for the team.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention focusing on satisfaction and development.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the team to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Manage succession planning within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Qualification: BE/B.
  • Tech/ PG NPTI (National Power Training Institute) Work Experience (Range of years): 13+ years of experience in manufacturing, power plants, or heavy industry with a focus on strategic planning, operations, and maintenance.
  • Preferred Industry: Experience in the power generation, heavy manufacturing, or related industrial sector is preferred.
