Job summary

JAKSON Group in India is seeking a Manager – Industrial Engineering (Solar Manufacturing) to drive productivity and cost optimization across ingot, wafer, and cell lines within a GW-scale Solar PV facility. You will own line balancing, time & motion studies, and OEE improvement, coordinating with Production, Process Engineering, Projects and Finance to meet capacity and efficiency targets.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Production, or related discipline; formal training in Lean/Six Sigma/IE tools preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing excellence, or knowledge of plant operations, preferably in solar PV (ingot/wafer/cell), semiconductor, or high-volume process manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with time & motion study, line balancing, capacity planning, and plant-layout design.
  • Working knowledge of ingot growth, wire-saw wafering, and cell processing (diffusion, PECVD/LCVD, screen printing) operations and their productivity drivers preferred.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, MOST measurement system, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE improvement methodologies; Green Belt/Black Belt certification an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel/data-analysis tools; exposure to SAP/MES systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain plant/facility layouts, material flow diagrams, and value-stream maps to minimize handling, travel distance, and work-in-progress.
  • Conduct time & motion studies, work-sampling, and line-balancing exercises across Ingot, Wafer and Cell process lines to establish standard cycle times and manning norms.
  • Prepare and validate manpower planning and organization structuring for production and support functions, including comparison of offshore vs. in-house resourcing models.
  • Active role and support in tool selections.
  • Drive capacity planning and de-bottlenecking studies to support ramp-up to rated capacity and future expansion phases.
  • Own OEE tracking and improvement across ingot pullers, wire saws, diffusion furnaces, PECVD/LCVD and screen-printing equipment.
  • Lead cost-reduction and productivity-improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, FIFO, Kaizen and TPM methodologies.
  • Develop SOPs, standard work instructions, and process/cycle-time benchmarks in coordination with Process Engineering.
  • Support BOM validation, raw-material consumption norms, and yield-loss analysis in coordination with SCM and Quality teams.
  • Support new-line and equipment commissioning by defining manning, workstation layout, and material-handling requirements.
  • Prepare MIS/dashboards on productivity, utilization, manpower efficiency, and cost-per-unit for management review.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Quality, SCM and Finance to align industrial-engineering initiatives with plant KPIs during operation phase.
  • Ensure EHS and 5S/workplace-organization standards are embedded into layout and process design.

Role Overview

The Manager – Industrial Engineering will drive productivity, capacity planning, and process/cost optimization across the Ingot, Wafer, Cell manufacturing lines along with Ancillary of a large-scale (GW size) Solar PV facility. The role owns line balancing, time & motion studies, plant/facility layout optimization, manpower and machine productivity analysis, and OEE improvement, working closely with Production, Process Engineering, Projects and Finance to ensure the plant operates at target capacity, cost, and efficiency benchmarks from ramp-up through steady-state operations.

Key Responsibilities
