Role Summary
We are looking for a hands‑on Group Consolidation Manager to own the preparation of monthly Consolidated Financial Statements (CFS) under US GAAP for a privately held multinational group of 20+ entities across the US, North America, LATAM, Europe and APAC (revenue approx. USD 700 Mn). This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Finance (Consolidation & Tax Head). You will run the consolidation cycle end to end, support acquisition accounting, and help the group move from an Excel‑based process to a dedicated consolidation tool.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly consolidation and reporting
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, equity roll‑forward) under US GAAP, and quarterly and annual packages for lenders, the Board and auditors.
- Own the consolidation calendar, close timetable and reporting‑pack requirements for all entities.
- Perform intercompany eliminations and investment eliminations; reconcile intercompany balances and transactions.
- Handle foreign currency remeasurement and translation (ASC 830), including CTA and FX reserves, across multiple functional currencies.
- Account for goodwill, non‑controlling interests and equity‑method investments; prepare the consolidated cash flow statement, disclosures and notes.
M&A and technical accounting
- Support acquisition accounting (ASC 805): opening balance sheets, PPA inputs with external valuation advisors, and measurement‑period adjustments.
- Integrate acquired entities into the group reporting calendar, chart‑of‑accounts mapping and group accounting policies.
- Assess accounting treatment for non‑routine transactions (ASC 810, 842, 326, 350, 740 inputs, etc.) and document positions in technical memos.
- Maintain group accounting policies and the entity‑to‑group chart‑of‑accounts mapping.
Review, controls and audit
- Review entity‑level trial balances and reporting packs; challenge variances and drive resolution with controllership teams.
- Maintain consolidation workpapers, reconciliations and review evidence in line with ICFR‑aligned internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors on periodic reviews, year‑end audits and PBC requests.
Analysis and stakeholder management
- Prepare variance analysis and commentary for Management.
- Provide consolidated data to FP&A, Treasury and Tax (e.g., lender covenant reporting, tax provision inputs).
- Work with Controllership team across time zones.
Systems and process improvement
- Operate hands‑on in the current Excel‑based consolidation process and the group ERP - NetSuite.
- Drive automation, standardisation and close‑cycle improvements (faster close, fewer manual adjustments).
- Participate in the selection, design and implementation of a consolidation tool), including requirements, mappings, rules, data loads and testing alongside an implementation partner.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (ICAI) or equivalent (CPA / ACCA). US GAAP / CPA preferred.
Experience
- 58 years of experience, with at least 3 years in multi‑entity, multi‑currency US GAAP / IFRS consolidation.
- Hands‑on experience preparing consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations, FX translation and cash flow.
- Exposure to acquisition accounting and onboarding of acquired entities.
- Big 4 or audit background preferred.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 810, 805, 830, 842 and 230.
- Advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliations, large data sets); working knowledge of an ERP (SAP / Oracle / NetSuite / other).
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and the ability to work to tight monthly deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to challenge and influence across time zones and cultures.
- Self‑starter who is comfortable doing the work personally, not only reviewing it.
Good to Have
- Experience implementing or migrating to a consolidation tool.
- Experience in private equity‑backed or lender‑reported environments.
What Success Looks Like

- Minimal post‑close adjustments and clean quarterly and annual audit outcomes.
- Intercompany differences resolved within the cycle.
- Acquired entities onboarded into group reporting within one to two close cycles.
- Consolidation tool selected and implemented within 6–9 months, with a documented, repeatable close process.
