Job summary

Adani Group invites an experienced professional to lead the Shift In Charge – Backup Fertilizer and Minerals Operations at our port. You will direct shift activities for handling fertilizer and mineral cargo, ensuring safe, efficient execution and adherence to port standards.

You will monitor vessel loading, manage resources, maintain records, and coordinate with clients and internal teams, while promoting safety, quality, and a modern, digitally aware approach for ongoing competitiveness.

Qualifications

• MBA or engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) in any discipline.
• 10-15 years experience in the relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Shift Management: Direct shift operations for handling fertilizer and mineral cargo, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of activities.
• Operational Oversight: Monitor vessel loading/unloading, rake handling, and cargo storage, taking corrective actions as needed for efficiency.
• Resource Management: Allocate equipment and labor to support cargo handling during the shift.
• Safety Compliance: Conduct safety briefings, ensure use of PPE, and maintain a safe working environment on shift.
• Communication and Coordination: Liaise with client representatives, transporters, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Quality Control: Oversee cargo quality and quantity to meet required standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of shift operations, cargo handling rates, and resource utilization.
• Digital Mindset: Stay updated with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and competitiveness.

Shift In Charge - Backup Fertilizer and Minerals Operations is responsible for leading the shift activities related to the handling and processing of fertilizer and mineral cargo at the port. This role ensures that operations during the shift are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the ports operational standards and safety protocols.

• Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective communication with client representatives, transporters, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Quality Control: Oversee the quality and quantity of cargo during handling, ensuring that all operations meet the required standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of shift operations, including cargo handling rates and resource utilization.
• Digital Mindset: Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
• Key Stakeholders - Internal: Head of Section - Dry Cargo Operations, Head of Section- Logistics, Head of Section - Back up operations, minerals and FCC, Line manager - Backup fertilizer and mineral operations, Other Department Heads & Direct reportees

Experience & Educational Requirements

• RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required) : 10-15 Years experience in the relevant field
