We have been mandated by a large conglomerate into Iron & Steel business for the below mentioned role.

Position Name: Mgr - DRI - RMHS (Operation)

Location: Jamshedpur

Qualification: Diploma/ B .Tech-Metallurgy/Mechanical/Chemical/Production

Experience: 12+ Years

Job Purpose:

The Incumbent will be responsible for managing and overseeing the end-to-end operations of the Raw Material Handling System to ensure smooth, safe, and cost-effective supply of raw materials (iron ore, coal, dolomite, limestone, etc.) to the DRI kilns. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership in plant operations, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and monitor day-to-day RMHS operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials to DRI kilns.
• Oversee unloading, storage, reclaiming, crushing, screening, and conveying operations.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams for seamless plant functioning.

Process & Efficiency Improvement

• Optimize raw material blending, sizing, and feeding to achieve desired kiln performance and product quality.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures for operational excellence.
• Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs, energy consumption, and material losses.

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental norms.
• Promote a strong safety culture and conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.

People & Team Management

• Lead and supervise a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.
• Provide training, mentorship, and skill development for RMHS operation staff.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with procurement, logistics, and quality control for timely availability of raw materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and prepare MIS reports on consumption, losses, and operational KPIs.
• Support senior management in strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
