Job summary

H G Infra Engineering (HGIEL) in Jaipur is seeking a highly capable Highway Design Engineer to lead detailed highway designs, including Plan & Profile drawings for highways, junctions, interchanges, cross roads, service roads and slip roads. You will also develop signage, road marking and road stud layouts, and design drainage per project requirements.

The role requires strong IRC code knowledge, proven design delivery experience, and the ability to coordinate with AE/IE and site teams.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. with 8+ years or M.E./M.Tech. with 6+ years in highway design.
• Hands-on highway design experience, preferably with in-house design teams or consultancies.
• Strong knowledge of IRC codes and highway geometric design standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed highway design drawings (Plan & Profile) for highways, junctions, interchanges, cross roads, service roads, and slip roads.
• Develop signage plans, road marking plans, and road stud layouts.
• Design roadside drainage systems in line with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Apply IRC codes and guidelines to ensure design quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with site teams, AE/IE representatives, and stakeholders to resolve design issues.
• Collaborate with structural design, planning, and audit teams for smooth project execution.
• Work independently on design deliverables while meeting timelines and contractual requirements.

About the Role

HGIEL is looking for a motivated and technically proficient Highway Design Engineer to join its Highway Design team at the Jaipur Head Office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in detailed highway design, a strong understanding of relevant Indian Roads Congress (IRC) codes, and the ability to independently execute design assignments while coordinating effectively with site teams, Authority Engineers (AE), and Independent Engineers (IE).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed highway design drawings, including Plan and Profile (P&P) drawings for highways, junctions, interchanges, cross roads, service roads, and slip roads.
• Develop signage plans, road marking plans, and road stud layouts.
• Design roadside drainage systems in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Apply relevant IRC codes, standards, and guidelines to ensure design compliance and quality.
• Coordinate with site teams, AE/IE representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve design-related issues.
• Collaborate with structural design, planning, and audit teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Work independently on design deliverables while meeting project timelines and contractual requirements.
• Continuously enhance technical capabilities in highway design software and engineering practices.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or M.E./M.Tech. with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant Experience: Proven experience in detailed highway design, preferably with an in-house detailed design team, highway design consultancy, or engineering design contracting firm.
• Software Skills: Hands-on experience in Civil 3D, MX Road, or OpenRoads is essential.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IRC codes and highway geometric design standards.
• Additional Advantage: Knowledge of pavement design will be an added advantage.
