Amgen India Hyderabad Office is seeking a Manager, Forecasting to lead the development and maintenance of Excel-based forecast models for patient, sales, Rx-based, and revenue forecasts. You will partner with Commercial, Medical, Finance and R&D teams across geographies to drive data-backed decisions.

The role requires 8–13 years in pharmaceutical forecasting or commercial analytics, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Python/SQL and AI-enabled tools.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Analytics & Insights team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to many cross functional teams such as Commercial, Medical, Finance, R&D, Corp Affairs, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving the success of Amgen’s products and portfolio. As a Manager, Forecasting at Amgen India, you will play a key role in delivering actionable, data-driven insights to support decision‑making across therapeutic areas. This role supports global pipeline assets and requires flexibility in collaborating across geographies—including partners in the U.S., Portugal, and internal contract teams in India. The ideal candidate will possess strong pharmaceutical forecasting and analytics experience, high data fluency, and strong written & verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders groups & geographies. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Forecasting and operates within the broader framework of Business Analytics & Insights (BAI). This role is for Amgen’s India Hyderabad Office. You will work on‑site a minimum of 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Forecast Development: Build, maintain, and enhance Excel‑based forecast models (patient, sales, Rx‑based, revenue). Support pipeline forecasts across various BUs (final therapeutic area assignment TBD). Assist in development of long‑range plans and annual operating plans.
• Analytics and Insight Generation: Interpret large datasets from internal systems, syndicated sources, and custom analytics. Apply business judgment founded on knowledge of pharma/biotech industry and Amgen products / business to integrate market dynamics, competitor insights, and assumptions into forecasts and communicate forecast results & rationale effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Stakeholder and Cross Functional Team Collaboration: Collaborate with forecasting teams in the U.S., India and Portugal to align on methodology and deliverables. Partner with internal India contract workers to drive standardization and execution of model builds. Closely work with cross functional teams representing Commercial, Finance, Medical, Value & Access, Analytics, Insights, and CI Demonstrate & model Amgen value of being respectful to others and to a diverse working environment.
• Process & Capability Enablement: Contribute to building new forecasting capabilities in Amgen India. Help develop reusable tools, templates, and forecasting frameworks.
• Technology & Innovation: Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, agentic research platforms) to enhance speed and depth of insights. Stay up to date with forecasting best practices, including probabilistic modeling, digital workflows and AI tools & capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 8 to 13 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical forecasting or commercial analytics

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in patient‑based and demand based forecasting
• High proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of Python/SQL is a plus
• Familiarity with syndicated pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Evaluate, internal CRM systems)
• Experience using generative AI tools to aid insight generation or automate workflows
• Strong collaboration skills, including experience working in cross‑cultural virtual teams
• Project management skills & ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast‑paced environment
