Role overview:
Looking for a strategic professional to lead the growth of the Clean Technology vertical, identify and accelerate high-potential clean tech startups, build the relevant ecosystem, and manage financial planning and operations for the foundation.
Key responsibilities
Clean Technology vertical
- Define the annual strategy and roadmap for the Clean Technology vertical.
- Identify, evaluate, conduct due diligence, and onboard high-potential clean tech startups.
- Manage a portfolio of startups and support them on business model validation, GTM, fundraising, supply chain, and scale‑up.
- Identify business bottlenecks and design strategic interventions to help startups achieve commercial scale.
- Build relationships with clean tech investors, corporates, technical experts, and ecosystem partners.
- Develop new program frameworks, mentorship models, toolkits, and impact‑tracking processes.
- Manage technology pilots, external collaborators, and field partners.
- Contribute to new sector‑specific initiatives as the portfolio evolves.
Finance & impact
- Own day‑to‑day budget management across the foundation.
- Track expenditure against budgets, identify discrepancies, and ensure financial discipline.
- Coordinate with program teams on budget allocation and reconciliation.
- Ensure financial processes comply with applicable regulatory and CSR requirements.
- Support statutory audits and related financial processes.
- Develop frameworks/partnerships to measure Social Return on Impact and link financial planning with measurable impact.
Must‑have requirements
- 4 – 6 years of experience in management consulting, venture capital, strategy roles in high‑growth startups, or impact‑focused organizations.
- MBA / Master’s in Management or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of the Climate Tech / Clean Tech ecosystem, including renewable energy, carbon markets, and circular economy.
- Experience working with startups on scale‑up, GTM, business strategy, fundraising, or operational challenges.
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L management.
- Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and use quantitative analysis for decision‑making.
- Proven ability to manage CXO‑level relationships and external stakeholders.
- Strong strategic problem‑solving and structured thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Prior experience with Climate Tech / Clean Tech startups is preferred but not mandatory.
