The Global Risk function covers all facets of risk management for Fidelity International, including investment, operational, enterprise, model and technology risk, with the Global Risk Team in Fidelity covering oversight of the Group’s risk profile including risk insights, risk frameworks, policies, procedures, oversight, and challenge. Board reporting is a key facet of the Risk Function’s objective to provide risk reporting and insights for the Global Chief Risk Officer, Board level Group Audit and Risk Committee, Senior Management and the external (client facing) Investment Company Boards. A key objective for the Global Risk team is to enable independent insights and reporting of the risk profile of the Fidelity International business in the UK & Ireland, Continental Europe and Asia to partner and challenge the business areas to drive improvements in risk understanding and awareness, and overall optimisation of risk across Fidelity.
This is an exciting opportunity in helping to lead the development and enhancement of the Risk Function Board level reporting and insights within Fidelity globally. The role includes leading and enhancing Fidelity’s various Board level reporting, and the reporting to the external Investment Company Boards. The role will involve direct interaction with the various heads of risk functions and their supporting teams. You will be supported in your role by the existing reporting team and risk team leads. The Global Risk team is a diverse team and we are ideally looking for an individual who can innovate, ‘think outside the box’ and support executive management and Global Risk colleagues as a ‘trusted business partner’.
Core aspects of the role: The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate, manage and support the end-to-end risk reporting activity and insights for the Global Risk Team covering the internal Fidelity Group Risk Committees, regulated Boards and the external (client-facing) Investment Companies. The individual will take the lead on drafting Board level and Committee reports, providing risk insights and commentary, and coordinate the production of other risk insights and reporting produced by other members of the Global Risk Team, including coordinating content input from other risk and business stakeholders. As this model matures, the role holder will progress to make the Board reporting capability more globally supporting and covering new locations. In addition the individual will support development of Fidelity’s approach and innovation to risk insights and reporting - for example, developing new tools or insights.
Key aspects of the role will include:
Experience in dealing with cross functional stakeholders at various level of seniority
Experience working in a 1LOD or 2LOD governance or risk role; risk framework understanding and oversight knowledge
High degree of proficiency in report writing and MS tools including the ability to develop clear, concise & compelling story lines
Ability to create insights & provide risk opinions to Boards and Senior Management from data sets
Collaborative problem-solver able to work through ambiguous, shifting and sometimes competing priorities
Excellent command on spoken and written English
Experience in working in the financial industry with an understanding or background in Risk function
Fine balance in working with multiple stakeholders and ability to work independently
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Ability to make decisions that are reasonable and logical
Effective influencer, able to build productive relationships, while comfortable challenging and negotiating different viewpoints.
Highly desirable: Financial or Non-Financial Risk management experience in Financial Services Investment risk knowledge and experience Experience in running risk analysis, including review/challenge of business risk profile and remediation initiatives
