Qualifications

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager Ash Procurement to lead the sourcing and procurement of fly ash and pond ash from multiple thermal power plants. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in negotiating supply contracts, optimizing logistics costs, and managing supplier relationships in the ash procurement ecosystem.

This role is critical in ensuring a steady, cost-effective, and quality supply of ash for downstream applications in construction, cement, and other industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ash Sourcing: Identify, negotiate, and secure fly ash and pond ash procurement agreements from multiple thermal power plants across regions.
• Vendor & Plant Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with plant authorities and key vendors to ensure continuous and reliable supply.
• Contract Management: Develop, review, and manage procurement contracts, MoUs, and long‑term supply agreements ensuring legal and commercial compliance.
• Cost Optimization: Analyze and monitor transportation and handling costs; work closely with the logistics team to optimize freight, route planning, and bulk movement.
• Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, price fluctuations, government guidelines, and new sources of ash to maintain a competitive edge.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with environmental, statutory, and internal audit requirements.
• Coordination with Internal Teams: Work closely with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely ash delivery, billing accuracy, and vendor payments.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical / Civil / Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in ash procurement or supply chain management related to thermal power plants.
• Strong knowledge of fly ash and pond ash procurement practices, applications, and sourcing dynamics.
• Good understanding of transportation/logistics costs, freight negotiation, and movement planning.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and vendor agreements.
• Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement tools.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
