Mattel is seeking a strategic Head of Workplace Operations, Experience & Corporate Services to lead MTIC’s workplace strategy, facilities, security, transport, and vendor governance. You will ensure a safe, engaging, and scalable environment for a 24x7 global center, partnering with MTIC leadership and global teams to drive continuous improvement and cost optimization.

The role requires extensive experience in workplace operations, supplier management and change leadership, with a track record

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facilities Management or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Workplace Operations, Corporate Services, Facilities Management or GCC Operations.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and complex vendor ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting workplace expansion and change management.
  • Experience working in a 24x7 operational environment is highly desirable.

The Head – Workplace Operations, Experience & Corporate Services is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of the Mattel Technology & Innovation Center (MTIC) workplace. This role is accountable for delivering a safe, secure, sustainable, and engaging workplace that enables business growth and an exceptional employee experience.

Working closely with MTIC leadership and Global Workplace, Security, HR, Finance, Procurement, IT and external service partners, this role will establish operational excellence across facilities, workplace experience, security, transportation, travel, business continuity, vendor governance and workplace expansion while ensuring compliance with Mattel's global standards and local regulatory requirements.

The role will develop and execute the Workplace Operations strategy to support MTIC's continued growth and position the site as a world-class Global Capability Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Workplace Strategy & Operations
  • Develop and execute the Workplace Operations strategy aligned with MTIC's business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead all workplace operations including facilities, employee services, workplace experience and corporate services.
  • Ensure operational readiness and business continuity for a 24x7 operating environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace efficiency, service quality and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop operational policies, standards and governance frameworks aligned with Mattel's global practices.
Facilities & Workplace Experience
  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations through the managed workplace provider.
  • Ensure workplace infrastructure, maintenance and employee amenities meet operational and brand standards.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employee experience, workplace engagement and collaboration.
  • Lead planning and execution of office events, executive visits and workplace programs.
  • Monitor workplace utilization and optimize space planning to support organizational growth.
Security, Safety & Business Continuity
  • Own governance of physical security operations, access control, surveillance systems and incident management.
  • Ensure effective management of the outsourced security function, including service performance and compliance.
  • Partner with Global Security to implement enterprise security standards and response protocols.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity, emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services and regulatory authorities as required.
Transportation, Travel & Logistics
  • Lead governance of employee transportation, shift mobility and women's safety programs.
  • Ensure reliable and compliant transportation services supporting 24x7 business operations.
  • Oversee corporate travel, executive travel and logistics operations.
  • Monitor vendor performance, safety metrics and service levels to deliver a seamless employee experience.
Vendor & Financial Management
  • Develop strategic partnerships with workplace service providers and managed service partners.
  • Establish governance mechanisms to monitor vendor performance, service levels and contractual compliance.
  • Own Workplace Operations budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality.
  • Partner with Procurement on sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier performance management.
Real Estate & Workplace Expansion
  • Support workplace expansion, fit-out projects and future site planning.
  • Partner with Global Workplace and external consultants on capacity planning and workplace design.
  • Ensure new workplace initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with business requirements.
ESG & Sustainability
  • Lead workplace sustainability initiatives aligned with Mattel's ESG objectives.
  • Drive responsible workplace practices covering energy, waste, water conservation and environmental compliance.
  • Support sustainability reporting and implementation of workplace wellness initiatives.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary Workplace Operations partner to MTIC leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with Global Workplace, Global Security, HR, IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal and external service providers.
  • Lead governance reviews, executive reporting and operational performance discussions.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs that provide meaningful operational insights to leadership.
People Leadership
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing Workplace Operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and customer service.
  • Mentor team members and develop future workplace leaders.
  • Ensure effective management of outsourced partners through robust governance and performance management.
