Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in hydrometallurgy or precious metal refining.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Kutch Copper Limited is seeking an experienced Shift In charge – Hydro to lead shift operations in the Precious Metal Refinery (PMR), with a focus on hydrometallurgical processes for the recovery and refining of gold and silver. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations while meeting production, quality, and recovery targets.

The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to hydrometallurgical processes, precious metal refining operations, process optimization, and team management within a continuous process industry environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Lead and monitor hydro refining operations during shift to ensure safe and uninterrupted production.
• Execute production plans and achieve shift-wise output, recovery, and quality targets.
• Coordinate manpower and resources for smooth plant operation.
• Monitor process parameters and take corrective actions to optimize performance.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance metal recovery and operational efficiency.
• Drive initiatives to reduce waste, minimize losses, and improve resource utilization.
• Support debottlenecking and productivity enhancement projects.
• Participate in continuous improvement, digitalization, and operational excellence initiatives.

Quality Control & Product Recovery

• Ensure gold and silver refining activities meet defined quality specifications.
• Monitor sampling, testing, and process control activities.
• Investigate process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Focus on maximizing precious metal recovery and minimizing process losses.

Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance Coordination

• Ensure safe and reliable operation of hydro process equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
• Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and shift-level interventions.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce compliance with plant safety standards, SOPs, PTW, LOTO, and emergency response procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety observations, and shift safety reviews.
• Report, investigate, and assist in closure of incidents and near-miss observations.

Team & Shift Management

• Lead and supervise operators, technicians, and contract workforce during shift operations.
• Ensure effective shift handover and reporting practices.
• Coach and develop team members on operational and safety requirements.
• Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous learning.

Reporting & Digital Operations

• Prepare shift production, recovery, quality, and safety reports.
• Analyze operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support adoption of digital tools and process monitoring systems.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in Hydrometallurgy, Precious Metal Refining, Non-Ferrous Metals, Copper, Gold, Silver, Zinc, Nickel, or Chemical Process Industries.
• Hands-on exposure to hydro refining, leaching, precipitation, filtration, solution handling, and metal recovery processes.
• Strong understanding of process control, quality assurance, and operational troubleshooting.
• Experience in managing shift operations in a continuous process plant.
• Good knowledge of safety systems, environmental compliance, and operational excellence practices.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management capabilities.
