Job summary

Altium Packaging in Argos, Indiana is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment, and related facility systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will install, adjust, and repair blow mold components such as trimmers and palletizers, perform mold changes, and troubleshoot pneumatics and hydraulics while upholding GMP standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• OSHA forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment and facility.
• Follow GMP and safety standards in all tasks.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and related equipment.
• Perform mold changes, pin changes and other equipment changes.
• Inspect, rebuild and replace valves, pumps and hoses.
• Troubleshoot problems and locate root causes on blow mold and related equipment.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• Overtime may be required to meet business needs.

As a fully competent Industrial Maintenance Technician, incumbent will perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment and facility. They are also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Industrial Maintenance Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and other related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.
• Receives instructions on specific job task by Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Preferred

• 2+ years maintenance experience, specifically in the manufacturing industry
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• OSHA Forklift certification

Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
