Job summary

SKF Engineering and Lubrication India Private Limited in Bavla, Ahmedabad, seeks a Maintenance Engineer – Electrical or Mechatronics to ensure optimal availability and reliability of manufacturing assets and utilities.

You will implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance using CMMS, oversee mechatronic systems, manage HVAC, power and water, and drive TPM, 5S and safety while guiding shift teams.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical / Electronics /Mechatronics Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bearing Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance activities (MM/CBM/TBM) on machines to improve MTBF & UCM through CMMS.
• Maintain records of machine breakdowns and perform breakdown analysis and corrective actions.
• Plan and execute improvement activities/Kaizens to improve MTBF, reduce MTTR.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and repairable spare modules.
• Oversee mechatronic systems including robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, and automation components for smooth factory operations.
• Manage factory utilities such as compressed air systems, HVAC, power distribution, and water supply management.
• Operate and maintain ETP/STP systems.
• Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions/unsafe acts/abnormality tags and waste.
• Propagate Energy, Water, Oil awareness and carry out conservation projects.
• Plan shift schedules and ensure smooth running of shifts.
• Maintain 5S in offices and workshops.
• Maintain related quality documents and records.
• Identify skill gaps and provide training; maintain skill matrix for maintenance staff.
• Support machine refurbishment and plant layout changes as per business needs.

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Electrical or Mechatronics

Role Type: Individual Contributor (Need to handle Shift responsibilities)

Reports: DGM Maintenance & EHS

Job Location: Bavla, Ahmedabad (30KM from Ahmedabad on Rajkot Road)

Purpose of the role:

Ensure optimal availability, reliability, and efficiency of manufacturing assets, factory utilities, and environmental systems by implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Planned maintenance activities (MM/CBM/TBM) on machines to improve MTBF & unplanned corrective maintenance (UCM) through CMMS.
• Maintain records of machine breakdowns and perform breakdown analysis and prepare action plan to take corrective & preventive actions.
• Plan and execute improvement activities/Kaizens to improve MTBF, reduce MTTR.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and repairable spare modules.
• Oversee mechatronic systems including robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, and automation components for smooth factory operations.
• Manage factory utilities such as compressed Air systems, Centralized Coolant Systems HVAC, power distribution, and water supply Management to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Operate and maintain ETP/STP systems.
• Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions/unsafe acts/abnormality tags (Red tags) and all types of leakages and wastes.
• Through knowledge of TPM & Maintenance Management systems.
• Propagate Energy, Water, Oil etc awareness amongst teams and carry out conservation projects.
• Plan shift schedules and ensure smooth running of shifts.
• Ensure 5S in the offices and workshops.
• Maintain related quality documents and records.
• Identify the skill gaps in workmen & trainees and provide training accordingly. Maintain skill matrix for the Maintenance staff.
• Support machine refurbishment, overhauling, and plant layout changes as per business needs.

• Percentage maintenance Down-time
• MTTR and MTBF
• Repairs and Maintenance cost reduction
• Planned versus unplanned maintenance
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems and geometrical alignment, AutoCAD system, tolerances and limits
• Expertise in mechatronics including CNCs , PLCs, sensors, robotics, and automation troubleshooting & programming .
• Knowledge of repairs of hydrostatic spindles and slides, Condition monitoring of spindles and gearboxes
• Can perform Root Cause analysis and able to create maintenance program.
• Machine refurbishment and overhauling and basics of machine shifting and plant layout.
• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, SRCM & new tools.
• Effective team player
