Job summary

Kyndryl in Bengaluru is seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage DB2 for z/OS environments across client projects. You’ll install, configure, and optimize DB2 subsystems, plan migrations, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Experience with DB2 for z/OS including installation, configuration, data sharing, SMP/E maintenance.
• Strong DB2 performance tuning, buffer pool optimization, SQL diagnostics and utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER).
• Disaster recovery planning, z/OS internals, SMF/RMF analysis, problem determination.

The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong experience in DB2 for z/OS Administration, including installation, configuration, data sharing, and SMP/E maintenance.

• Expertise in DB2 performance tuning, buffer pool optimization, SQL diagnostics, and database utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER).

• Experience with disaster recovery planning, z/OS internals, SMF/RMF analysis, and problem determination.

• Knowledge of change and release management processes in enterprise environments.

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud management, including on-premises to cloud migrations.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• IBM Certified Database Administrator – Db2 for z/OS certification.

• Experience with IBM Db2 Tools, OMEGAMON, BMC MainView, or CA Database Management solutions.

• Knowledge of automation tools (REXX, CLIST, Ansible) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, z/OSMF, IBM Z, Parallel Sysplex, GDPS, and high‑availability solutions.

• Experience with vulnerability management, Microsoft Active Directory, and ADFS.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills in mission‑critical enterprise environments.
