The purpose of the Localization Engineer role is to ensure the smooth technical execution of multilingual localization projects. The role focuses on preparing, integrating, and validating localized content across platforms while maintaining technical accuracy, linguistic quality, and process efficiency. The Localization Engineer acts as a key bridge between project management, linguistic teams, and development, enabling scalable and high-quality localization delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end‑to‑end localization engineering tasks for web, software, eLearning, and multimedia content
• Prepare, process, and manage localization files (XLIFF, XML, HTML, JSON, CSV, RTF, etc.)
• Perform content extraction, reintegration, and build verification
• Support translation workflows using CAT tools (e.g., Trados, memoQ, Phrase, Smartling, etc.)
• Conduct linguistic and functional QA checks post‑integration
• Fix layout, encoding, font, and text expansion issues
• Coordinate with translators, QA teams, and developers to resolve technical issues
• Maintain localization documentation, workflows, and best practices
• Assist in automation and process optimization wherever possible

Required Skills

• 3–4 years of proven experience as a Localization Engineer
• Strong understanding of localization workflows and internationalization concepts
• Hands‑on experience with CAT tools and localization platforms
• Good knowledge of file formats: HTML, XML, XLIFF, JSON, CSV, etc.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or similar) is a plus
• Experience with eLearning tools (Storyline, Rise, Captivate) is an advantage
