Sonata Software is seeking a seasoned DevOps professional to support global locations, strengthen CI/CD pipelines, and ensure robust Unix/Linux operations. The role emphasizes HPC experience with LSF/Slurm, scripting in Python or Bash, and collaboration with R&D teams on automation and security practices.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of technical DevOps experience, a strong Linux background, and a track record of delivering reliable infrastructure across multiple geographies.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or related field; 5–10 years of Unix/Linux experience.
• Experience in HPC using LSF or Slurm is required or preferred.
• Advanced Unix commands, LVM, NFS, Autofs, DNS, FTP, VNC, Remote NX; server hardening.
• Shell scripting (Bash), Python, or Perl proficiency.
• Strong English communication and willingness for on-call and shift rotations.

• Maintain, monitor, and improve system efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot Unix/Linux OS incidents and performance bottlenecks.
• Write/modify scripts to automate maintenance and health checks.
• Provision virtual servers, manage access, configure file systems, apply OS patches.
• Analyze logs to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.
• Monitor resources and enforce server hardening and security compliance.
• Create SOPs and knowledge base for L1/L2 teams; collaborate with L3 teams.

Responsibilities

• Supporting multiple geological locations to serve user communities across North America, Europe, and Asia sites.
• Focusing on improving R&D productivity and committing to customer success.
• Maintaining, enhancing, monitoring, reporting, and improving its efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Unix/Linux OS-level incidents, performance bottlenecks, and service failures.
• Write and modify scripts (Shell, Python, or Perl) to automate routine maintenance and system health checks.
• Provision virtual servers, manage user access, configure file systems, and perform OS patching or upgrades.
• Analyze system and application logs to identify the root cause of complex errors and develop permanent fixes.
• Monitor system resources (CPU, memory, disk space) and maintain server hardening and security compliance.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles to assist L1/L2 teams
• collaborate with L3 IT teams across domains to ensure high availability and stability of production environments

Requirements

• 3+ years of technical experience architecting, managing, and improving a DevOps environment running both Windows and Linux.
• 5+ years working in a global group, coordinating support, strategies, projects, and operations across multiple geographies in a team-oriented approach
• Strong Linux administration skills and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding and proven operational experience with DevSecOps and best practices
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipeline in cloud
• Experience working directly with R&D software development teams to collaboratively develop solutions to optimize their working environment
• Experience in HPC using LSF or Slurm is preferred.
• Strong process focus shown through documentation, change management, incident management and problem-resolution activities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT OR related fields and typically 5-10 years of hands‑on experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience in HPC using LSF or Slurm
• Advanced Unix commands, LVM, NFS, Autofs, DNS, FTP, VNC, Remote NX and server hardening and RHCE certified preferred
• Basic / Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash), Python, or Perl.
• Strong analytical thinking, excellent English communication, and readiness for on-call and shift rotations.
• Experience working directly with R&D software development teams to collaboratively develop solutions to optimize their working environment
