Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to design and develop embedded drivers for Linux, Zephyr, and bare-metal environments.

The role focuses on driver development for SPI, I3C, OSPI, SD/eMMC, UFS, USB, Ethernet, and related peripherals, with involvement in ASIC bring-up and hardware validation. You will collaborate across architecture teams, apply data-driven optimization, and stay abreast of trends in software and hardware.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
• Expertise in embedded C programming.
• Hands-on Linux kernel and RTOS (Zephyr/FreeRTOS) experience.
• Device driver development and hardware bring-up exposure.
• Strong knowledge of ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.
• Familiarity with Git and version control practices.
• Basic scripting skills in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded peripheral drivers (e.g., SPI, I3C, OSPI, SD/eMMC, UFS, USB, Ethernet) for Linux, Zephyr, and Baremetal environments.

• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with peers and partners.

Linux Driver Development--RTOS/Zephyr

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Software Development Engineer to design and develop critical embedded software components. As part of a core team of embedded specialists, you will work on cutting-edge hardware and software technologies, contributing to the success of next-generation AMD products.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
• Expertise in embedded C programming.
• Hands-on experience with Linux kernel, RTOS (e.g., Zephyr, FreeRTOS), and device driver development.
• Proven track record in hardware/SoC bring-up.
• Solid understanding of silicon domain and hardware-software integration.
• Strong knowledge of ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.
• Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ECE, EEE, or CSE
