Qualifications

• Leadership experience in lighting teams is required.
• 8+ years in feature films or episodic VFX is expected.
• Proficiency with 3ds Max and VRay preferred; Maya/Arnold acceptable.

The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for leading the lighting team in the creation of high-quality, photorealistic lighting for visual effects shots. This role involves close collaboration with other departments and pipelines to ensure the visual style, mood, and continuity of projects are maintained. The Lighting Supervisor also oversees the technical and artistic performance of the lighting team and helps define efficient workflows and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the lighting team to deliver high-quality, consistent, and photorealistic lighting for all shows.
• Provide creative and technical feedback to the lighting team to achieve desired look while maintaining production deadlines.
• Ensure efficient workflows and rendering practices are followed to optimize time and resources.
• Troubleshoot & resolve technical issues related to lighting and rendering.
• Help develop and maintain tools, templates, and documentation to support the lighting pipeline.
• Collaborate with other departments and pipeline to optimize lighting workflows.
• Organize and provide regular training for team members.
• Mentor and support lighting artists and leads to grow in their profession and participate in team meetings to provide clear and actionable feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field of Digital Arts or equivalent experience.
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in feature films or episodic VFX.
• Previous leadership experience as Lighting Supervisor or Lead Lighter in high-end VFX environments.
• Proficiency with 3ds Max and VRay preferred, experience with Maya -> VRay, Arnold or other software considered.
• Clear understanding of color space, image-based lighting, shading, and advanced rendering methodologies
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and disciplines.
