Job Description

Job Description: The Primary School Librarian will be responsible for managing the school library, promoting literacy, and supporting students and teachers in accessing a wide range of educational resources. The ideal candidate will have a passion for children's literature and a commitment to creating a welcoming and engaging library environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloging, shelving, and organizing books and materials.

Promote a love for reading and literacy through various programs, activities, and events.

Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom learning.

Conduct regular library sessions and reading programs for students.

Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively.

Maintain an up-to-date and diverse collection of books and educational materials.

Foster a positive and inclusive library environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.

Implement and enforce library policies and procedures.

Stay informed about current trends in children's literature and library services.

Plan and host book fairs, reading challenges, and other literacy events.
