Job summary

ClearTax in Bengaluru invites a seasoned Corporate Lawyer to handle complex commercial transactions and a range of legal documents. You will draft, review, redline and negotiate software services agreements, channel partner agreements, NDAs, and other business contracts, with a pragmatic, business-focused approach.

You will advise on applicable laws, ensure compliance across EU, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions, including GDPR considerations, and collaborate with partners and internal teams

Qualifications

• Law graduate with 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and to re-prioritize quickly to address shifting business needs.
• Exposure to and experience with multi-jurisdictional contracts, with preference for EU, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific regions; GDPR knowledge is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and execute complex commercial transactions while demonstrating competence in a broad range of corporate and business laws.
• Draft, review, redline, analyze, and summarize various legal documents, including software services agreements, commercial agreements, channel partner agreements, non-disclosure agreements, memoranda of understanding, and software license agreements.
• Analyze and assess business processes, identify issues, and propose pragmatic solutions while exercising strong legal and business judgment.
• Analyze statutes, regulations, and documents with exceptional legal aptitude and acumen, while maintaining a commercial outlook.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization, building consensus and fostering strong professional relationships.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively, adhere to timelines for deliverables, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Independently draft, review, and negotiate contracts for various business lines, including technology, SaaS, procurement, and other day-to-day business agreements.
• Advise business teams on applicable laws and legal risks related to new lines of business and assist in structuring such business initiatives.
